Registration for the 2014 Spring Season is now open.

 

 

Over the past few years Poughkeepsie Cal Ripken – Babe Ruth has become the premier league in the district. Your board of directors and I take great pride in this accomplishment. Our organization is a not for profit league funded and run mostly through volunteer work, sponsors and registration fees. 

 

Although many of our league members volunteer their time and resources during the year, we are finding that it is often hard to find volunteers when needed (field work, managing and helping in the concession stand, etc). We understand that everyone is busy with work, other family activities, and other volunteer work.  In the past we have offered an opt-out volunteer fee option during registration. This fee was put towards the running of our league – to help out in areas where we were unable to find enough volunteers.  In order to better manage our league we will be adding a Family Involvement Fee ($50 per family) to the cost of the registration this season.

 

Our board members, managers and coaches will continue to be volunteers. However, we will fill in some of the field maintenance, concession stand work, etc, with paid staff as needed in order to continue to run our league as we have in the past.  At the same time, we welcome any volunteers who would like to help out throughout the year to continue to improve our league and provide a better experience for our children.

 

Each family will have opportunities to volunteer during the season if they choose. Based on the amount of time volunteered during the season, a portion of this new fee (or the entire fee) can be credited towards your registration for the next season.

Registration Details

 

Online registration details are available on our website at www.pokbaberuth.org/register.html

 

We are also having two In-Person registrations.  These will allow those that want to pay by cash or check to do so.  In addition, if you have questions about the divisions or league in general, you can get them answered at these events.  Please complete the registration (account setup, etc) online then just stop to make the payment to complete the registration.  This will help avoid delays at the events.

 

            Saturday, January 11th, 11am-3pm @ Dick’s Sporting Goods

 

            Sunday, February 9th, 6pm-8pm @ Croft Corners Firehouse

 

 

Check/cash payment can only be accepted at the In-Person registrations so please attend one of these if you need to pay by cash or check.

Late Registration: Register before February 10th to avoid a late fee and possibly miss out on playing.  We need to lock down team #’s (managers, uniforms, etc) by this date, so as much as we want everyone to be able to play we can only add players for divisions that have room.  Please register on time!

 

Team Requests: Please limit requests (specific manager, playing with a friend, etc) to the Tball division.  We will make every effort to accommodate all requests. For Rookie and older divisions, we would like to balance the teams as best as possible. Requests can make this difficult. If there are special circumstances we will try to accommodate.

 

Playing Up: Every season there are players that would like to play at the older age division (and the younger age division). Please contact us (info@pokbaberuth.org) before completing the online registration so we can override the system if needed to get your child into the appropriate division.

·         There is a $25 discount for each child after the first.
