  • Review Minutes - Hoyt
  • Year-end project status
    • Concession – Still needs cleaning
    • Fields- Most of the fields have been winterized. Request for dumpster at ROM.
    • Equipment – Umpire gear and team bags have been put in storage. Need gear for 10 year olds and balls for all
  • Responsibility chart –
    • Confirming we have enough coverage and then discussing dates around those projects – Projects all added and discussed. Hole in Opening day and end of season party
  • Registration fees/ Parent Involvement Fee
    • Discussion over raffle or continued fee. - Family Involvement fee to continue. Registration Fees remain the same
    • Divisions – Combining A and AA back to one division (Rookie)
    • Playing Up - Evaluations will determine playing up
  • Discuss calendar
    • Registration dates – Dates confirmed
      • In Person – December 7th and January 10th (needs confirmation from Rich Gagnon on the 10th)
      • Deadline – Confirmed February 22
    • Evaluations
      • Effect on Draft- Vinny to confirm with Al – March 8th
      • Will try to get evaluation ratings from Spring Managers and use this data for 2015. Ideally only new players to league will need evaluation (and those wanting to play up)
    • Draft Day – Confirmed March 15th – Need to add date to Clubhouse Calendar
    • Opening Day – Confirmed April 18th
  • Lightning Travel Update – Continue what we are doing and see how it results in 2015
  • Sponsor renewals – Dan and Jared to go over form and make any necessary changes.

  1. Discussed different committee opportunities and areas where help is needed (Fundraising, Opening Day, Equipment,...)
  2. Discussed possible 2014 improvements:
    • Tilcon : bleacher, Field equipment, Liner, L-Screen, Pitching machine

    • Batting Cages : surface (look into cattle mats - durable/reasonble
  3. Sposnors : discussed Adopt-a-Field program - donate to specific field where kids play for exmaple - plaque, bricks,...
  4. MarkL/Brent discussed fundraising opportunity with Vividean Energy
  5. Discussed 2014 Fees and parent involvment fee. Budget calls for increase of $7 to $15 to break even
    • Decided on : Tball $75, Rookie $110, Minor/Major $125, Junior $160
    • Decided to add a parent involvment fee of $50 per family. We would then no longer require volunteer hours from families.
  6. Discussed player evaluations to better balance team. Plan to use an independent evaluator.

  1. Fall Ball Update : No major issues. AA pitching a problem that needs to be addressed in the future
  2. Financial : $700 in main account. $2500 in concession account. $6500 in new field account. $2000 grant from Badges for Baseball for equiptment. $5000 coming for field.
  3. Field Projects : Tilcon looking good (3" sand and 3" dirt), seeding soon. Syracuse consultant helping.
  4. New Hamburg - drainage issue. needs plan to resolve
  5. Reviewed the season : Fields (ROM Big fields needs work), Pitching at younger ages (make better use of bullpens (e.g., weekly sessions), Tball needs to use T's, Juniors (issues w/ missing players during week due to school ball- consider double headers on Saturdays
  6. Winter Clinics : looking into : The Filed, EI, H&R
  7. Note Lagrange LL is moving to Cal Ripken for 2014
  8. Pok North LL : discussing options. Sounds like they will stay seperate for 2014.
  9. 2014 Board : most are planning to return. Two others interested in joining.

  1. discussed league calander - Opening Day - apr 13 (morning) , Pic night apr 12, Jan 12 -Dicks In-Person reg, Feb 10 Final in-person
  2. financials - discussed items we may want to consider for purchase : leaf blower, squeegee's, pitching machine (current one may be ok); scheduling software - does sports signup offer anything yet ? Dave to check.
  3. Registration pricing - increasing rookie by 10$. rookie AA was more expensive due to umpires not included in budget. decided to just combine for A and AA to keep simpler as far as swapping between A/AA later...; Opt out fee increased to $50 - was $25 last year (first year used). No check payments in online - too many issues last season.
  4. discussed PIP fee (all pay fee and get back after complete volunteer reqts) but decided not to do. Brian to draft letter to appeal to all to see if it can help get more volunteers.
  5. Sponsor fees to increase to 350 (Tball/Rookie) - was 295 and 450 (minor/major/junior/senior) - was 395. Fee's haven;t been changed in many years.
  6. In person registrations - discussed if could do sports signup. look into mobile hotspot...and possibly rent several laptops. TBD if would have credit card payment or just check/cash.
  7. Rich G to re-investiaget wifi at ROM
  8. sean merrill came to discuss meeting with Renegades (Tom Hubmaster) - different oppotunities (EOS party, etc).
